Learn Work Develop (LWD) is a Rwandan local public interest nongovernmental organization created by the “VESEs” (Volunteers for Effective work and Sustainable Employment) on 5th November 2013, in purpose of contributing to the promotion of the effective work and sustainable employment among the young girls and boys on one hand. On the other hand, LWD fights against the barriers to the effective work in terms of ignorance, early marriage, teenage pregnancies, climate change, HIV/AIDS and other diseases.
LWD as a local NGO in Rwanda is governed by the Organic Law No 04/2012 of 17/02/2012 governing the organization and the functioning of national non-governmental organizations. LWD is legally allowed to operate in the whole country of Rwanda with the legal personality No 153/RGB/NGO/LP/10/2017 provided by the Rwanda Governance Board (RGB on November 6th, 2017).
Promoting the effective work and sustainable employment among the young girls and boys, fighting against all forms of barriers to the effective work including ignorance, early marriage, teenage pregnancies, climate change, HIV/AIDS and other diseases.
Nowadays, LWD focuses on the activities that are preventing and responding on the teenage pregnancies (as they are broken-down down in LWD’s areas of intervention), and advocates for the rights of the single mothers and their children
